Involved in a huge housing crisis, city planning is facing the problem of constructed cities which need a deep rehabilitation in its urban structure and the reconsideration of its dispersed structure. An inescapable issue if we want cities to be more equilibrated and austere in terms of resources consumption.

In this case, our study takes place in the south area of Valladolid, Spain, where is located the industrial park of Argales. It is placed in the middle of the city, surrounded by a number of consolidated areas which depend on this particular central area to work as a complex. Mobility, accessibility, everything is important since this zone will be vital in the city´s life.

The mixture of uses will play an important role within the proposal, along with the draft of public areas, free spaces and centres of activities. Some former buildings of RENFE, the state-owned company which operates freight and passenger trains, will remain as industrial places specially conditioned to work as part of the contemporary city.
